WINDOW CORNICES
Window cornices, or sometimes referred to as a window “valence”, are used at the top of windows, usually , surrounding the curtain at the level of the curtain rod.. They may also be used as stand alone shelving when the top is filled in with a shelf board. The shelf board can have plate grooves cut into the top, in order to be used to hold decorative plates for display. The top shelf also makes a convenient means of displaying small antiques or collectibles.
Below, are just a few of the window cornices which can be built from our spandrels. Our cornices are shipped ready to paint or, when specified, can be done in a hard wood for staining.
Installing window cornices is done quickly and easily, as the bottom of the shelf will usually supported well on top of the window molding while the sides keep the top level.

When used over windows, to determine the correct size for pricing, add 1" minimum past curtain on sides and front. |
