Turned Balusters
|
The turned baluster profiles pictured here, are turned
from solid western red cedar and shipped sanded smooth
with a primer coat.
Their substantial dimensions gives a railing system
the sturdy authentic look of railings produced in
the late 1800's.
The high amounts of natural tannic acid in the red
cedar, makes them decay resistant.
When considering our balusters, please determine
the finished hand rail height that you prefer, and
we will determine a proper baluster height.
We ship all balusters cut to your lengths. The prices
show here are for balusters up to 30" in length.
For lengths over 30", please call for a quote.
Balusters used on stairs are usually over 30", to allow for angle cut.
As an option on our balusters, you may have us cut
a "V" notch on the bottom of the baluster,
which helps shed water. The "V" angle exactly
matches the 15 degree slope of our top rail. When
ordering the "V" notch, you will receive
a top rail as shown and a bottom rail with a slope
instead of flat as shown. You may also receive the
top rail separated from the 3/4" sub rail. This
allows for concealed assembly of the top part of the
baluster. |
Do It Yourself Easy Assembly
We offer an assembly system which
allows quick and easy assembly of our balusters to our
railings with a screw at the top and bottom and no exposed
fasteners showing. See installation tips. |
