Our porch columns and newel posts are turned from
solid western red cedar.
The high amounts of tannic acid in western red cedar
make them decay resistant.
The deep cut detail in our profiles give our turnings
the authentic look of turnings by the old masters
of years past.
All porch posts except PP711 and PP712 come with
a primer coat. The drawings of each style of post,
show the different profiles available. The amount
of square part below the turning, and above the turning
may be customized to your needs. Different hand railing
heights and upper trim square dimensions may be varied.
For porch posts longer than 96", please call
for a quote.
For maximum protection against moisture absorption,
it is recommended that porch posts be installed on
bases (see below). We offer these in a composite material
which is screwed to the bottom of the posts before
installing. See post pin mounting hardware below.
Important: When choosing a style which pleases you, keep in mind that we can vary the amount of square length at the top, and below the turned area for your specific needs!
All posts are easily shipped to your home. Please call with the style of post, quantity, and your shipping address, so that we can provide you with packaging and freight cost to your zip code.
