Victorian
Gingerbread Porch detailing typically consists of
a combination of Porch Columns, Railings, including
a top handrail and a bottom rail, and sawn or turned
balusters. Steps or stairways leading to the porch
are often enhanced with newel posts. Spandrels may also be added at the tops of porch columns, in
order to create a screening effect which softens harsh
corners and creates "eye brow arches."
Our porch posts, newel posts, turned balusters and
railings are made from western red cedar, a decay
resistant wood. Our sawn balusters may also be made
from pine for a more economical solution.
All our our porch elements are designed to present
the look of authentic late 1800's Victorian Gingerbread.
Whether you are building a new porch or restoring
and old Victorian porch, we have the elements to create
and authentic look. |
